Dr Katerina Melfou is a Professor of Agricultural Economics in the Department of Agriculture and Dean of the School of Agricultural Sciences at the University of Western Macedonia in Greece. She has received a BSc degree in Biology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, a Postgraduate Diploma in Agricultural Economics from the University of Reading UK, an MSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wales, UK and holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Her research interests focus on efficiency and productivity analysis, marketing of agricultural products, agro- food industry, agricultural production economics and sustainable agricultural development. She has been a Scientific Coordinator or participated as a team member in several national and EU research programs. She has published numerous articles in referred journals, in conference volumes and collective volumes.
She is the Director of the Postgraduate Program, MSc in «Livestock and Wildlife Management» Department of Agriculture, University of Western Macedonia.
She has been recently elected as a member of the new Management Council of the University of Western Macedonia.
