Thomas Kotsopoulos

Thomas Kotsopoulos is a professor in the Department of Agriculture at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and Director of the Laboratory of Agricultural Structures & Equipment. He is a graduate of agriculture and civil engineer (diploma) with a master's degree and a PhD in agricultural engineering focused on biogas production. He is Vice President of the AUTH International Relations Committee and Vice President of AUTH’s Interdisciplinary Agrifood Center (KEAGRO) and served as President of the Hellenic Society of Agricultural Engineers (HelAgEng). He has evaluated a number of research proposals at both national and European level and has participated as an external reviewer in doctoral theses in Denmark and Australia. He has received European and national competitive funding for his research activity and is/was scientifically responsible for a number of European and National competitive projects. His current research interests focus on greenhouses, livestock buildings, animal waste management and the energy valorization of animal waste, for which he has received funding. He has a widely published research work with more than 1200 citations and a h-index of 18.
