Dimitrios Dimitriou is Professor and the Head of the Department of Economics, Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh), Greece, delivering courses in Greek and international Universities. He presented many dedicated publications in sustainable development of infrastructures including presentations in distinguished international events from international organisations. His research experience includes contribution in 21 large research projects in which 5 as project leader (principal investigator) in field of distribution systems management and sustainable development. His professional truck record includes the occupation of executive management positions in large organizations; the delivery of dedicated studies for international projects; and consulting in a variety of infrastructure projects in fields of investments appraisal, economic impact analysis, sustainability in planning and management of large infrastructure investments. He is member of international expert and management committees in international associations and professional bodies, and he is the founder of the network of experts VIP4RIDE (https://vip4ride.com/). In 2021 he awarded the Professional Contribution Award from the Chamber of Evros/Greece. In 2018 he awarded by the Professional Achievement Award in Greece by the British Council for the Study UK Alumni awards.
